Lip Lift

What is Lip Lift?

A lip lift is a surgical procedure to elevate the upper lip, shortening the distance between the lip and the nose.

Lip lift surgery is ideal for people who are looking to add height and definition to the lip, rather than adding volume. However an upper lip lift will help the lips to appear fuller, without the use of fillers. Lip lift surgery is permanent, which makes it an attractive option for people who do not want the upkeep which comes with dermal fillers.

A lip lift will also help to address the problem of thin lips, a common complaint caused by the aging process. It can also help to lift a downturned mouth, as drooping lips are yet another issue caused by the aging process. Lip lift surgery helps to turn back the clock and will make the middle portion of your face look younger and rejuvenated.

Who are good candidates for an upper lip lift?

The upper lip lift is intended for patients who present :

  • A drooping or hanging upper lip that covers the teeth
  • when smiling
  • A thin upper lip
  • An aging lip

Each patient has his or her own needs, and it is important to have a clear understanding of not only the length and height desired by the patient, but also the shape. Some patients want a pronounced cupid’s bow, others do not. Here are some of the most common motivations for having a lip lift:

  •  Shorten a long lip.
  • Reduction of the length between the nose and the upper white lip
  • Fight against aging. The skin between the bottom of the nose and the top of the upper lip lengthens with age, which can make the lips smaller and lower on your face.
  • Avoiding hyaluronic acid injections for the lips: we frequently see older and younger patients who have tried lip fillers and were not satisfied with the results.
  • Increased exposure of teeth: a lip lift exposes more of the upper teeth, which rejuvenates the face.
  • Feminization of the face

It is possible to perform a rhinoplasty, an upper or lower blepharoplasty, a face lift, a face liposuction in the same operation time.
